The summit aims to provide policy recommendations on major G20 issues and thereby to serve as a stepping stone to the Japanese T20 Summit in May 2019 and the Japanese G20 Summit in June 2019. The summit brings together international research organizations, thought leaders and decision makers from politics, business and civil communities.
Angela Merkel, Federal Chancellor of Germany, will attend the summit and hold the keynote address. Other confirmed speakers attending this year’s summit include Naoyuki Yoshino, Dean of the Asian Development Bank Institute and Co-Chair of Think 20 Japan in 2019 as well as further high-ranking members of the German government, including the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Heiko Maas, the Federal Minister of Economics and Energy, Peter Altmaier and the Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection Katarina Barley.
